Will we wake up in a new Europe tomorrow

Our fellow Scottish Europeans are voting in a referendum for independence from the UK today. What effects will this referendum have on the rest of Europe? Is separatism the right way or does it just mean more borders and red tape in Europe? Could the alternative to separatism be a federal Europe with federal member states?
